Tucked Away for a Short Time – Hopefully!!!
Do your snow dances!
No new white stuff again this morning. Heaviest of the snow is still on the Northeast section of our trails , Miners Castle and Shingleton areas. Yesterday Operator Chris took the Pisten Bully and full size Dubie Groomer East and North on Trail 8 to 7 miles North of Shingleton where we meet up with Seney’s section of trails. There are a few deep waterholes that were broken through and packed in as good as possible with the limited snow.
Today work will be done with the Pisten Bully, building a “shelf” along H-58 on the Wetmore Spur – use caution there.
Unless Mother Nature surprises us, the machines will be tucked away as there is no new snow forecast for the next 7 days. We need the wind to shift out of the North to fire up that “Superior” Lake Effect Engine, she’s been warmed up and ready to go.
Today’s forecast is for a sunny 30 degrees, 10 mph SW winds.
Again – the base is thin in most areas, especially as you head West of Au Train. so please ride conservatively and not dig holes when you you accelerate. A hard flat trail base makes for a great season of grooming and riding.
Keep Snow Dancing and we will continue to do what we can in preparation. Stay tuned for updates!
(Today’s photos are from Operator Chris and his Trail 8 run North of Shingleton yesterday.)
