BLIZZARD RECOVERY IN PROGRESS – TREES DOWN!

Trees are down across the U.P. with this latest blizzard passing through and grooming yesterday was very limited. The crew has some work cut out for them with clearing trees and grooming the drifts out of the trail system. Both machines will be out grooming during the day today so please stay alert. Overall trail conditions are very good under the 9 inches of fresh drifting snowfall.

Trails 8 East to 7 miles north of Shingleton Trail 419 East and West.

Today’s Forecast: Blizzard Warning ends at 7 am, Today Blowing Snow, 9 degrees, 25 to 30 mph Northwest wind with up 40 mph gusts.  1 inch of snow accumulation.

TREES DOWN - BLIZZARD CONDITIONS

- We are having trees come down all over the northern part of the upper peninsula with the tail end of a blizzard passing through. Ride with extreme caution. We will get out and clear our trail system as soon as safely possible.

8 East - Shingleton

Very Good

9 inches of Blowing and drifting fresh snowfall, groomed and set great Sunday.

Extremely high winds may have trees down on trail - Ride with caution.

8 West - Chatham

Good

9 inches of Blowing and drifting fresh snowfall, groomed and set great Saturday before the rain started. West half had limited grooming ability with rain and balling snow.

Extremely high winds may have trees down on trail - Ride with caution.

7 South - CR440

Good

9 inches of Blowing and drifting fresh snowfall, groomed and set great Saturday.

7 North - Christmas

Good

Good

9 inches of Blowing and drifting fresh snowfall, groomed today. Too much drifting snow to get perfectly flat in the AuTrain drifting areas. Next run should clean it up perfectly.

Expect large drifts near AuTrain and the Lake Superior shoreline, extremely high winds may may also have trees down on trail - Ride with caution.
