GREAT TRAILS BUT SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIRED!

UPDATE: We received official notice from the DNR that Grooming Operations are shut down. Trails are open for public use but grooming stops.

Overall trail conditions are good to very good. All of the Main Trails have been groomed and are holding a near perfect condition. Trail 8 North of Shingleton has grooming be finished up tonight with operations then on hold due to weather conditions. Grooming Operations will resume when weather permits. We still have a very good base overall with great late season riding conditions. Near the towns we have thin snow on trails running along the roadways. Check Fuel and Food stops if heading out. There are questions coming in with Executive Order 2020-21 and snowmobiling , per the MI DNR website all Trails remain Open. (see Executive Order warning below)    Be Safe!

Past 48 hour Grooming Operations: Trail 8 from 7 miles North of Shingleton to Trail 417, Trail 417 to Trail 418, Trail 418 and Trail 7 into Christmas.

Executive Order 2020-21 (COVID-19)

- 7. Exceptions. a. Individuals may leave their home or place of residence, and travel as necessary: 1. To engage in outdoor activity, including walking, hiking, running, cycling, or any other recreational activity consistent with remaining at least six feet from people from outside the individual’s household. Per the Mi DNR website: State parks, recreation areas, trails and other state-managed lands remain open, provided all visitors adhere to the requirement for proper social distancing – at least 6 feet between yourself and another person.

FUEL - FOOD

- If recreating long distance on your snowmobile be sure to check on fuel and food availability. The Tanglewood Inn in Shingleton has fuel and carry-out food but call first for either 906-452-6222. The Buckhorn Resort is closed.

8 West - Chatham

Very Good

No fresh snow, flat with a good base, groomed Sunday night.

Primarily bare plowed road from Campground road west to Forest Lake Road

7 South - CR440

Very Good

No fresh snow, flat with a good base, groomed Saturday night.

7 North - Christmas

Very Good

No fresh snow, flat with a good base, groomed Sunday night.

419 East - Wetmore

Fair to Good

No fresh snow, flat with a good base, groomed Saturday night from Trail 8 into Wetmore. From Wetmore to Munising has moguls, dirty snow and bare spots along road ways

419 West - Munising

Fair to Good

No fresh snow, fairly flat with a good base. Groomed Friday night from Christmas to and including the West bay Spur. From West Bay Spur intersection to Munising has moguls. Slow down and stay alert in that area. Thin and icy close to Munising.

418 - Au Train

Very Good

No fresh snow, flat with a good base, groomed Sunday night. There are a few bare patches just east and west of Au Train

Damaged Railing on Au Train River Bridge, cross with caution.
