THE RAIN CONTINUES

A wet start to the day today with a noticeable decrease in snow depth. Not to worry though as there is still plenty of snow to make a trail recovery.  Prior to the warm and wet weather overall trail conditions were excellent. The entire trail system was groomed just before this weather change. Grooming Operations are on hold and will resume on Friday night. Snow is forecast starting very early Friday which will help in the grooming recovery work. The best thing for trail preservation would be no snowmobile traffic during the warm rainy weather Wednesday and Thursday.
One area being watched closely is Trail 418 where we had an early season closure due to the trail turning into a deep slushy river. Soft snow and pockets of standing water are expected to develop – Stay Tuned!

With the down time we are doing some groomer maintenance. One thing not helping is a hydraulic line break on the Bully that is used to raise the cab. We have to rig-up a lift to tip it forward, not only for service work but to change the line itself. Always something keeping the team voluntarily busy.

Past 24 hour Grooming Operations:
Operations are currently on hold

Today’s Forecast: Rain Showers and Fog, 47 degrees, 10 to 20 mph South wind. Up to 1/2 inch of rain.
