FINALLY SOME REAL SNOWFALL!

A Winter Storm Warning is still in effect with about 8+ inches of snow falling overnight and still coming down. For now Trails are in overall Good Riding conditions across a majority of our trail system. Grooming operations were limited over the last 24 hours due to warm weather ahead of this storm. It will take the next 24 hours to get the new snow set and groomed across our system. We did pull out another tool in our arsenal last night. Our 3-point Dubie Groomer was put on the John Deere 7130 to get Trail 419 fairly cut in between Munising and Wetmore while the limited snow was really wet. A SPECIAL THANKS goes out to Peter Lindquist for bringing over his John Deere with a bucket loader to lift it of the trailer for us. Trail 419 still has a challenging creek crossing in there so, ride with caution. Hopefully the new snow lets us get a temporary culvert in this weekend. There is a logging issue 7 miles North of Shingleton (see General Warning below). Trail 418 has a gravel mix along the big lake near AuTrain. Please respect residential property owners and STAY ON THE TRAIL, No Snowmobile Signs mean just that. Please continue the snow dances and Stay Tuned for updates!

Past 24 hour Grooming Operations: Trail 8 From Shingleton to 7 miles North, Trail 7 from Christmas South to Trail 8, Trail 7/8 to Trail 7 South. Trail 418 to just East of AuTrain, Trail 419 from Munising East through the hills to M-28, Trail 422 (reference map below for trail locations)

24 hour Forecast: Winter Storm Warning changing to Advisory, Snow, 22º F and dropping, Winds W 15 to 20 mph, Gusts to 35 mph, 1 to 3 inches accumulation
Currently: Snow, 23º F, Winds WNW 21 mph, Gusts to 31 mph

TRAIL 419 OPEN CREEK CROSSING

- There is an open water creek crossing on Trail 419 between Munising and Wetmore. We do not have enough snow to install a temporary culvert yet. PLEASE ride/cross with extreme caution as each side is built up and icy.

TRAIL 8 NORTH LOGGING

- At the Alger SORVA / Seney intesection near the Bear Trap 7 miles North of Shingleton there is a 1/4 mile section from the intersection heading South that is dozed down to dirt. Logging trucks have recently been stuck in there so trail is very rough. Ride with extreme caution and watch for logging trucks and equipment.

IMPORTANT National Forest Closure Notice!

- STAY ON GROOMED TRAILS in the Stevens Lake F-16 crash site area. These are Trails 7 to the North and East, Trail 2 to the South and Trail 411 to the West. Order in effect through September 30, 2021. Notice from the National Forest important for those who venture off-trail: "Just a heads up to remind riders to stay on trails especially around or near the crash site they can be fined or imprisoned if caught inside perimeter thanks" (Order and Map in images below shows area)
