WE NEED SNOW!

No good news for snowmobilers. Yesterday was a damp day with freezing drizzle and the little snow we have trying to keep the ground white. So far we have only been able to pack in our 7 mile section of trail North of Shingleton last week. We really need a substantial amount of snow before groomer tractors can get out and do anything. The forecast looks promising mid to late in the week but as you all know that changes by the hour.
For now we have been working around the shop getting our club owned John Deere 7130 set-up for winter work. This year we plan on having staging it in Munising to do runs on Trail 419. With only two program machines we are stretched thin trying to keep up with traffic on busy days. Hopefully this lightens the load on our groomer operators and improves trail conditions, time will tell. The crew has also finished repairing the bridge railing damage in Autrain on trail 418 – thanks Chuck, Bill and Dave!

That’s it for now so lets dance for our Heikki Lunta Snow God and hope for the best. Stay tuned as the rideable season hopefully gets started soon.
